Brain Test: Tricky Puzzles by Unico Studio is designed to mess with you. Every single level. The obvious answer is almost always wrong — by design. The game uses misdirection, unexpected touch interactions, trick math, and literal-vs-visual wordplay to make players second-guess everything they think they know. It has accumulated hundreds of millions of downloads on iOS and Android because getting fooled, figuring out the trick, and finally solving it is genuinely satisfying. This site covers all 521 levels of the original game with the full correct answer and, crucially, an explanation of what trick the puzzle is using — not just the solution, but the “aha” moment.

Knowing the trick matters as much as knowing the answer. Brain Test reuses the same lateral-thinking techniques across hundreds of levels — misdirection, hidden tappable elements, screen orientation changes, count-what’s-actually-visible math, and questions where “smallest” means the visual size on screen, not the numerical value. Once you recognize a pattern, the next level that uses it becomes much more approachable. Priya Ahuja, our puzzle editor, has completed all four Brain Test titles (original, 2, 3, and All Star) and cross-checked every answer explanation against the current game version. How Brain Test Uses Lateral Thinking

Brain Test is not a knowledge quiz — it is a test of how flexibly you can think. Each puzzle is designed around one of several lateral thinking techniques that recur throughout the 521 levels:

  • Misdirection. The question steers you toward an obvious wrong answer. Level 1 asks you to find the largest animal — the “obvious” answer is wrong because the puzzle interprets “largest” differently.
  • Physical interaction. Some levels require you to tilt your phone, shake it, tap and hold, or interact with elements outside the puzzle box. The instructions hint at this — read them carefully.
  • Math tricks. Counting puzzles often include elements not shown in the question image. Add what is on screen, not what you expect to be there.
  • Hidden elements. Objects may be draggable or tappable even if they look like static background. Try tapping everything on screen before giving up.
  • Literal reading. When a question says “click the smallest” — the answer might be the word “smallest” in the question text, not an image element.

Recognizing which technique a puzzle uses is half the battle. Once you know the pattern, harder levels become much more manageable.

7 Tips for Solving Brain Test Levels Faster

  • Read the question word by word. Brain Test puzzles often contain a trick hidden in the exact wording of the question. “Find the biggest number” might mean the visually largest digit on screen, not the highest value.
  • Try tapping everything. Items that look like static decorations can be interactive. Tap animals, objects, clouds, trees — sometimes the answer is a hidden interactive element.
  • Consider phone movements. Shake, tilt, and rotate your phone. Some Brain Test levels require physical interaction that the question hints at subtly.
  • Use this answer guide for the explanation. Knowing why an answer is correct helps you apply the same lateral thinking to future levels. Our guide explains the trick behind every answer, not just the solution.
  • Count carefully. Math-based levels often include hidden elements in the background. Count every instance on screen before answering.
  • The obvious answer is usually wrong. If your first instinct gives you an immediate confident answer, question it. Brain Test is designed to subvert your first guess.
  • Skip and come back. If you are stuck, move to the next level and return later with fresh eyes. The lateral thinking trick often clicks when you are not forcing it.

Brain Test 2 & Brain Test 3 Coverage

This site primarily covers the original Brain Test: Tricky Puzzles with all 521 levels. The Brain Test franchise has expanded with additional titles:

  • Brain Test 2: Tricky Stories — introduces story-driven chapters with recurring characters. Puzzles involve multi-step interactions and narrative elements.
  • Brain Test 3: Tricky Quests — builds on the original formula with quest-based progression and new lateral thinking mechanics.
  • Brain Test: All Star — a newer entry in the series featuring celebrity-themed puzzles.

All three additional games use the same lateral thinking mechanics as the original. The pattern-recognition skills you build here — misdirection, physical interaction, literal reading — apply directly to Brain Test 2, 3, and All Star.
